House Fire on Lake

At approximately 10:45am on Wednesday morning, GBFD was dispatched to a reported house fire. E140 was first to respond, and upon arrival found smoke showing from the residence. After a brief investigation, a first alarm was called. Crews attempted to make access to the first floor, but were unable to make progress to due to conditions inside the building. Upon arrival of additional resources, a push was made into the basement, and after significant effort, the fire in the area was knocked down. Crew then proceeded to make entry to the first floor, and to the roof. While crews worked to knock the fire down on the first floor, the roof team cut several holes, and removed some skylights to let the heat and smoke out. After an investigation by the Cause & Origin team, Crews re-entered the building to take care of any remaining hot spots that may have existed. Due to the location, tankers were used to bring water to the scene. We would like to thank all of those who responded.
