Just as Golden's Bridge Firefighters were clearing a EMS call on Monday June 19, they were dispatched along with Katonah-Bedford Hills EMS & Westchester EMS to I684 Southbound in the area of 19.0 for a reported motor vehicle accident with a car smoking. The vehicle had spun completely around facing the wrong direction, after hitting the guard rail. Car 2143 & Car 2141 signed on responding within seconds of dispatch. Engine 140 would be only minutes behind the chiefs. Car 2143 was first on scene and reported negative car fire and to cancel EMS units due to no patient at the scene. When Engine 140 arrived on scene, the truck was put in a blocking position to protect crews operating. The crew was put to work securing the car's battery. Units operated at the scene for about an hour before being released by New York State Police.
